CHEYENNE, WY - Townshend Elementary School second grader, Tabitha Wembley, was injured on the school’s playground last Monday when her “I’m rubber and you’re glue” tactic failed to protect her from a fellow classmate’s teasing.
According to reports, Wembley, 7, was playing hopscotch with her “bestest friend in the whole wide world”, Sherita Jones, when fellow classmate Max McDougal came up to her and started calling her names.
“I was just jumping on the number five, and Max came up to me and called me an idiot,” said Wembley. “So I just said back to him, ‘Nuh-uh. I’m rubber and you’re glue, so whatever you say to me bounces off of me and sticks to you.’”
Unfortunately, something went horribly wrong. The rubber and glue failed to protect her, and McDougal continued to insult Wembley repeatedly.
Recovering from her injuries at home and in bed, Wembley had this to say: “I just can’t trust the rubber and glue ever again. It let me down.”
Unsubstantiated reports suggest that Wembley will rely on the “Na-na-na-boo-boo, stick your head in doo-doo” defense in the future.
