THE NEW YORK DOLLS - PRE-CRASH CONDITION
CD review by Sal Swayzo

They're back!

After 30 years, glam rock legends The New York Dolls reunited not only to make an amazing return performance, but also to record it. And a lot has happened to the forefathers of punk since they took the rock 'n' roll scene by storm.

Most notably, guitarist Johnny Thunders and drummer Jerry Nolan died in 1994. In their absence, however, the remaining original members came together this year at 2004's Meltdown Festival in London, where they were presented to the crowd by longtime fan, the one and only Morrissey.

And it was all captured on Pre-Crash Condition - Live From The Royal Festival Hall, where the band played classics like "Jet Boy", "Looking For A Kiss", and "Lonely Planet Boy". It also includes some of the onstage dialogue that happened between the band members.

On a sad note, this was the last performance for bassist Author "Killer" Kane. He passed away soon after the show from cancer, making this live album even more of a must-have for any New York Dolls or glam rock fan.
