CELLULAR DEATH

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - Marilyn Cosic, 37, of Sherman Oaks, was strangled to death by her cell phone Monday morning while driving to work in Beverly Hills.
By searching through evidence in her BMW Mini, authorities have concluded that Cosic was performing six other tasks while talking on her hands-free cell phone, which consists of an ear piece with a cord attached. Allegedly, during the call with her husband Chip, Cosic was also applying lipstick, and reaching under the passenger seat for a J. Crew catalog.
"At this point the cord was most likely wrapped around the victim's neck," states Sheriff Roni.
Cosic then proceeded to apply eyeliner while merging onto I-405. Then her other cell phone rang from her briefcase in the backseat. Cosic reached back for it, wrapping the cord around her neck again. Suddenly, her purebred French Terrier, Poo-Poo, leapt from the inside of Cosic's Gucci purse to the backseat, pulling the cord tightly around her neck.
Cosic was strangled to death, and slammed into the rear end of a Mercedes in front of her. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Godiva chocolates can be donated in lieu of flowers to Chip Cosic at 11 Tufnel Road, Sherman Oaks, California, 90015.
