What is Clash of the Titans? Only the biggest charity event of the year. Mr. Show’s Bob Odenkirk put the whole event together to raise money for the McCarton School and UCSB Autism Research Center. The night was a huge success: the show sold out, and the two-and-a-half hours of comedy was top notch. The night was hosted by Mr. Show’s Paul F. Tompkins, and started with Mr. Show performing all new skits. And they ended their set with my favorite skit, "Hail Satan". Next up, Janeane Garofalo enlightened us in the horribly wonderful film that is Charlie's Angeles, followed by the well-roasted wit of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, who pointed out that this event was like a graveyard for HBO.
"Almost all the comics here tonight have been fucked by HBO at one point in time," the joke hound said.
He then went on to praise the cancellation of the HBO sports comedy Arliss, which caused the crowd to cheer. It also brought Arliss' star, Robert Wuhl, out on stage. Triumph then insisted that Arliss was a great show, and asked Wuhl, "Whose dick did you have to suck for seven years?"
At the end of the night, Kids In The Hall took the stage to perform some of their most famous skits. Clash of the Titans was a once in a lifetime event. Hopefully, for those that didn't get to go, they’ll make it a twice in a lifetime event.
