SHORT HILLS, NJ - A bitter feud that started just months ago has ended in murder. World-renowned scientist and author Stephen Hawking is being held today on $2 million bail for the alleged murder of actor Christopher Reeve.
The battle of the minds started in September when Hawking sent out a press release calling Christopher Reeve a "whiney bitch."
Hawking stated he was "...sick and tired of hearing Reeve go on and on about how he will walk again. At least you were a hunky actor before your accident. I've been a crippled geek my whole damn life. The closest I come to having sex is when they change my diaper."
Hawking finished by saying, "I'd like to give him a brief history of ass-kicking!"
The Reeve camp responded by sending out a video, featuring footage of three assistants moving Reeve's legs along a treadmill while the actor hung, harnessed from the ceiling. Reeve then scrawled on paper with a pen in his mouth a note that read "See!"
Hawking fired back a video of his own days later. Wearing a crash helmet, Hawking demonstrated his mad skills, doing 360 flips and 50-50 grinds in a halfpipe.
"That's what you can do when you learn to deal with life's little setbacks," the scientist shot back.
It was at this point, police believe, that Reeve pushed Hawking over the edge; Reeve sent Hawking a five hour video, featuring clips of the actor making out with hundreds of his attractive, female co-stars. Notably absent from the footage were scenes with Margot Kidder, but included was a scene of Reeve and Michael Caine getting busy from the 1982 film Deathtrap.
Police Detective Josh Williams called the footage, "The most disturbing thing I've seen in my 20 years on the force."
Although details are still sketchy, police believe that Hawking released a rabid, three-toed sloth into Reeve's home. The coroner's report indicates the mauling of the former Superman star could have taken anywhere from three to four weeks.
