\"Damn. I\'m broke. My feet hurt. (Inside the mind of a carjacker.) And that bitch is slippin. It makes me wanna,.. creep. It makes me wanna,.. creep.\"
- Ice Cube, \"Down For Whatever\"

Yeah, that\'s how I felt about life,.. before I discovered The Apparitions! Whoo, Lordy! Their new album, Oxygen Think Tank, is just what the doctor ordered! I\'m not one to find salvation in a product, but this LP is seriously like The Second Coming. The CD\'s packaging features haunting photographs of the band, adorned in gas masks, and hooked up to oxygen machines. And that\'s just what The Apparitions\' music is,.. haunting. From the lull and sway of the opening tracks, to the more Beatles-esque oh-oh-oh\'s and jam-band riffs of the songs further in, OTT manages to scare the turdicus outta me! Beyond the minimal guitar/low-key vocal mish-mash of sound, this album\'s overall feel comes through its ingenious use of lyrics to control the mood of the music. They cover all the usual subject fodder of most modern rock (like striving for individuality in a mind-controlling society, and living beyond your day-to-day grind), but they manage to do it in an overwhelmingly original way. Life can definitely suck a rhinoceros nut, at times. But still, it\'s not all that bad, when you consider that such bestial ball sucking can lead to sweet, sweet tunes like these. This is one of those rare albums that you won\'t regret sacrificing 45 minutes of your life to listen to.
