Peter Billingsley scares me. That's not to say I'm not a fan of A Christmas Story, or that I didn't watch Real People like everyone else. But outside of Russkies, he really hasn't been in anything else worth mentioning (and that's if you consider Russkies worth mentioning). I will say The Hoboken Chicken Emergency is not only cute in that Special Olympics kind of way, but it also has a cast list equal to a week's worth of Hollywood Squares-- there's Billingsley, Dick Van Patten (Eight Is Enough), Alice Ghostley (Bewitched), Gabe Kaplan (Welcome Back Kotter), Hamilton Camp (Too Close For Comfort), Keene Curtis (The Magician and Cheers, as well as the Smurfs cartoon), Richard Deacon (BJ and the Bear), Arlene Golonka (Mayberry R.F.D. and the Speed Buggy cartoon), Jerry Houser (Sandstorm on Transformers), Clive Revill (Kickback on Transformers) and Van Snowden (who played H. R. Pufnstuf himself). Why, the director was in one of my favorite B-movies (which you'll undoubtedly see here within the year), I Married A Monster From Outer Space. The movie is about Arthur Bobowicz (Billingsley) who goes to the local meat market for a Thanksgiving turkey and comes home with a giant chicken. When the chicken runs amuck, attacking people for their potatoes, Arthur must find her before something wacky happens! OK, I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's worth watching once for the cast. Really.
