I am a dork when it comes to wrestling. I dug it as a kid, and even got the opportunity to see Hulk Hogan beat Andre the Giant in a steel cage! But as I got older, I thought the funny and irreverent world of wrestling was something for children, so I left it behind with G.I. Joe and He-Man.
At some point in early 2003, I was flipping through the channels and came across a match. An old favorite of mine, Rowdy Roddy Piper, was on, so I sat, watched, and reminisced. Now, nearly two years later, I know every wrestler\'s name, every finishing move, and every storyline for both of WWE\'s shows: RAW and SmackDown! In addition to that, I also make sure to be at my local BW3 during each and every Pay-Per-View (PPV) event.
So what happened when I found out that my hometown of Milwaukee would be hosting a live PPV event just a couple miles from my house? I giggled with retarded glee. As if that wasn\'t good enough, I soon found out that I was invited to the press conference to promote the event. And I\'ve got to tell you, I\'ve met and know some famous people, but nothing was as cool as sitting five feet from Vince McMahon.
The upcoming PPV event is Taboo Tuesday, and it will be beamed into your homes live and direct on Tuesday, October 19th. Now, if you know anything about typical WWE PPV events, you know that they always take place on Sundays. But that\'s kind of the point of this unique event: Taboo Tuesday is anything but typical.
Everything about this event is up in the air. For the first time in PPV history, viewers and fans decide what happens during the event. That\'s right, Taboo Tuesday is the first-ever entirely interactive event to be broadcast. You want to pick who fights the RAW champion, Triple H, for the belt? You want to pick rules and stipulations for a match? You want to tell Stacy Keibler what to wear? Or what not to wear? Well, now you can with Taboo Tuesday.
This event is really a ground-breaking event for how the future of television evolves. In a way, Taboo Tuesday is almost like a video game, in that you control the aspects of it. And maybe this is the future of television and video games alike. It\'s a reality-based choose your own adventure, and it\'s a hell of a fun way to get fans involved with entertainment they love.
So, on October 19th be sure to order Taboo Tuesday from your local cable provider, or purchase it online. Be sure to check out WWE\'s website for more updates on the event, and to find out how you can pick and choose what goes on at Taboo Tuesday. Enjoy it from the comfort of your own home. Me? I\'ll be sitting in the audience, kids! That is, if WWE can hook a brotha up with some press comps. Know what I mean, guys?
