Sweet Jesus! Just when I thought I’d never come up with an idea for my more-than-extremely-late \"Reading Between The Panels\", I come across something so classic and hilarious I can’t help but dork out and write about it!
Okay, I like the Internet, but far be it from me to call myself Internet savvy. So if you’ve already heard about this, bear with me. After you’re through perusing and re-perusing all of the wonderful content here at tlchicken.com, you should head on over to supermanisadick.com. Yes, that’s right: supermanisadick.com.
Here you’ll find some of the most amazing instances of The Man of Steel, Superman, being a complete and total asshole to his friends. And they’re all real. 100% real covers from the early days of comics, archived by some Internet nerds for all of us comic book nerds to laugh at.
This all began on a message board (you could find all of this info for yourself on their site, but I have about 240 more words to use up, so...) on a Transformers website when, while talking about comic book covers through the ages, someone found a cover where Superman was burning a Father’s Day gift from Jimmy Olsen, and another one where he laughs as Lois begs him to stop her marriage to a villain named Tinman. The thread logged in over a quarter of a million views, and received press all over the Internet. Finally, the traffic that the thread received caused a near overload of the bandwidth maximums of the sites the images originated from. In order to keep everything copacetic, supermanisadick.com was born, and the images are now hosted on their own server. And let me tell you, there are pages and pages and pages of Superman being a dick!
