You've got that right. Any movie with this many celebrities has nothing but big trouble on their hands. I really wanted to write a positive review this month. After the last two reviews, I needed it. Well, there's always next month. Big Trouble is the new movie from Barry Sonnenfeld (Get Shorty and Men In Black). It's about a guy trying to win the respect of his son, and how one suitcase changes the lives of all these people. At least that's what I think it's about. With more star power than you can throw a stick at (and sometimes you want to), the script falls victim to the same problems most star-studded projects do: everybody wants their 15 minutes. Some of the smallest roles become super-sized because of the actors playing them. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, here's a run down of just some of the cast: Tim Allen, Omar Epps, Janeane Garofalo, Johnny Knoxville, Jason Lee, Andy Richter, Rene Russo and Stanley Tucci. When will Hollywood learn? Just because you have a who's-who of actors on the poster, doesn't mean you have a good movie. Why not use that time and money to develop a great script? The other downfall (yes, there's more) is that it's also one of those movies that shows all the funny scenes in the trailer. The movie was set to release on September 21, 2001, but has now been pushed back due to recent events. They're actually doing you a favor. If they wanted to really be nice, they wouldn't release it at all.
