FREAK FILMS: CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL

You know, musicals aren't all bad. There have been many musicals to give pop culture the trots, such as Myra Breckinridge (Raquel Welch's sexual reassignment musical) and The First Nudie Musical, which speaks for itself. However, no musical ever created could hold a candle to Cannibal! The Musical, Trey Parker's Oklahoma!-esque sing-a-long about Alfred Packer, Colorado's favorite flesh-eater. Back in 1847, Packer and a team of miners with dollar signs in their eyes headed west to cash in on the Gold Rush. Many moons later, Packer was found to be the only survivor, having eaten his cohorts to survive the winter. Now you can sing to this gruesome tale! Masao Maki (aka G-Fresh) and Dian Bachar (aka Choda Boy) aren't the only Orgazmo parallels to be found here. Pay attention to the scene where Packer reminisces about talking to his beloved horse, Leann, after it's stolen by trappers. Now watch the scene in Orgazmo where Joe Young reminisces about conversing with his gal, Lisa, over tall glasses of milk in front of a fireplace. Parker is clearly saying the same thing in each movie. Creepy, huh? Troma rereleased Cannibal! on DVD chock full of useless nonsense, so run out, buy it and have yourself a shpedoinkle day!
