BUTCH WALKER & THE LETS-GO-OUT-TONITES - THE RISE AND FALL OF... (Epic)
The name of this album was supposed to be Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, but that was already taken. The band is pretty Glam without all the glamour. The explicit content sticker was dissapointing because I never heard any explicit content. If you like glam, this is worth checking out becasue you can actaully go see them on tour.
REVOLUTION MOTHER - ENJOY THE RIDE EP (MVI)
Psychedelic hardcore that is fronted by professional skater Mike Vallely! It\'s got a raw garage sound to it that you don\'t hear much anymore. What a fun groove to skate to... if I could skate.
THE SHARP EASE - REMAIN INSTANT EP (Ol Factory)
The heavy reverb in this is paralyzing. Its awesome! I love to be paralyzed. The honeydew voices of the ladies in this band really pull me out of my skin for an out of body experience only possible through music like this.
TRACK A TIGER - WOKE UP EARLY THE DAY I DIED (Future Appletree Records)
Lets take a road trip this summer and bring along this album. I just want to jump in my wood-paneled station wagon and camp along the way with this CD in my satchel. It interested me to find out that the band also took a road trip to different recording studios across the US to complete this album.
INCA ORE - THE BIRDS IN THE BUSHES (Weird Forest)
There is a picture of a cat on the front of this CD cover. It sounds like they gave the cat a singing solo on track 1. VERY experimental music. If you are into Voodoo this is the perfect CD for you. It makes you feel like chopping the heads off chickens and letting the warm blood run down your creamy white thighs. This music scares my family. I love it.
THE MUTTS - I US WE YOU (Fat Cat Records)
Punk surf rock with a touch of Social D and a sprinkle of 1980. This is awesome music if you like bands like the Vandals or the Buzzcocks. It has a very early sound to it that somehow they\'ve captured in todays times. Everything is working here with this one.
KAKI KING - UNTIL WE FELT RED (Velour Records)
Like melodic drone? Whispy trinkeling water over rocks? I do. This sound is really fairytale-like and is reminescent of The Sundays. Kaki\'s euphoric voice can heal a wounded soul or broken spirit. If they ever decided to make another Twin Peaks series, Kaki King would do the vocals on the soundtrack.
NO MEANS NO - AUSFAHRT (Wrong Records)
What is this music? have never heard of this genre before. I want to call pioneer. It reminds me of FEAR... if FEAR was squaredancing in a barn off in the countryside with Swiss milk maids and beer.
TOWERS OF LONDON - BLOOD SWEAT AND TOWERS (TVT Records)
Sexy.
MELLOWDRONE - BOX (Columbia Records)
You know that song that was on the Project Runway commercial season preview? Probably not, because no one can out-watch me on TV. \"Oh my, its a wonderful day...\" Anyways, that is this band. I love that song and I love Project Runway. I love this band. The scratchy cigarette voice of the male singer gives my brain a drag. This one is hot like Hiedi on the runway.
