AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD

The other day I snuck into my brother’s room and hid in his closet, to watch him. My brother was all excited about some CD he had just got, and he put it into his stereo and turned it up real loud. At first it hurt my ears real bad. All kinds of things were going on at once. The drums would go real fast and then slow down and then come back fast again. My brother was dancing funny and he was pretending to play a guitar. Then he started to sing along, but he didn't know the words and he just kind of yelled and stuff. There were nice songs on the CD that were a little more quiet, and those ones didn't get me all scared and excited at the same time. The slow songs actually made me feel calm and almost sad, too. I guess my brother had his stereo up way too loud, because my mom came in his room and started to yell at him to turn it down. He yelled at her too. “Mom, you don't understand how good this band is! You have to play it loud!” “I don't care if that's Ozzy Osbourne himself. TURN IT DOWN!” “Mom! You're so dumb! It's not Ozzy! This is AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD!” My mom's face got all scared looking and I thought that she was going to go get her Bible again, but she just yelled at my brother some more and then slammed the door to his room. I had to stay in the closet the whole time my brother listened to the music. He played it three times in a row, so I guess that he really liked it. Actually, I started to really like it, too. I must have made too much noise because he heard me and ripped open the door and pulled me out. “You little sneak! Don't ever come in my room again.” He threw me out of his room and shut his door. I decided that when he left I would sneak back into his room and borrow that CD to make a copy for myself. I would hide it real good so that neither he or mom would find it.
