VOICE FROM THE LONGBOX

Due to an unexpected accident involving a stack of Darkhawk comics, comic book john was unable to write his column for this issue. His trusty kid sidekick, sonic erica, has taken his place.
I like comics. You should be careful with comics and don’t spill orange juice on ‘em. My favorite comic book character is Rogue from the X-Men because she’s a girl and I think she’s really cool. When she touches somebody, they pass out. She gets their memories and sometimes their powers. I like Storm because if it’s a rainy day, she can turn it into a sunny day. I like Wolverine because he’s like a cat with his claws. I think Superman is pretty cool, but he’s not my favorite. I see him on Smallville and the Justice League cartoon. My favorite is Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl. I like Wonder Woman because she’s like mom and I like Hawkgirl because she’s a girl and a hawk and hawks are cool. The Flash is cool ‘cuz he can run really fast. Martian Manhunter is cool. Green Lantern is kinda grumpy, but I do like him. If I had a GL ring, I would make a giant chocolate sundae. It would be mint flavored. Batman walks around in the nighttime. I don’t know much about The Avengers. My favorite is Vision. He’s kinda like Martian Manhunter because Vision can do the same things as him, except I don’t think Martian Manhunter can turn into a rock. Iron Man is cool, especially when that guy in the comic is asking him all the questions and he’s like “Zzzap!” right in the face. Today, at school, we played Spider-Man. My friend was Venom and I was Spider-Girl. We weren’t fighting each other. Venom was helping Spider-Girl and we had to fight Green Goblin. He had captured Spider-Man. And Spider-Man gave us a big reward and let us be his sidekick. I might not get to see the Spider-Man movie in the theater since it’s PG-13. My parents might see it before me and tell me whether I can go or not. Because it’s about comics and I like Spider-Man. SpongeBob is cool. I wish he had his own comic. He would probably be the sidekick of Mermaid Man after Barnacle Boy died. He would be Man Sponge. If I could have any superpower in the world, I would want to be able to walk through walls because then, if somebody was in the bathroom and I gotta check if they locked the door or something, I could just fly in. I would also like a Super Fire Punch. I would punch someone that I don’t like. If I could turn into any superhero, it would be Hawkgirl, not Wonder Woman ‘cuz Mom would be Wonder Woman. Dad would be Superman. Alex would be the Hulk and my older brother, Nate, would be Green Goblin. Because he’s always grumpy and mean.
