It's been quite a while since Concrete Blonde played together on stage. The show started off with opening act Steve Wynn. I had never heard of Wynn before, but my friend and I were impressed with him. He pretty much stuck to an acoustic guitar for most of the set. After Wynn came Concrete Blonde in Mandarin outfits. There were only two of the three original members at the show; the drummer was obviously a much younger replacement. But the show started off great and kept the energy through the encore. Lead singer Johnette Napolitano was amazing to watch. Jim Mankey deserves credit as well with his amazing guitar solos. The band performed crowd favorites like "Bloodletting" and "Hollywood". Napolitano also performed a wonderful rendition of Janis Joplin’s "Me and Bobbie McGee". There was a small incident during the encore when the band was performing "Tomorrow, Wendy". Some jackass yelled for Napolitano when she was telling a story about her friend who had AIDS. Luckily, she told him off. It was quite entertaining. The only part that was disappointing was that their set seemed a bit short. Overall, it was a great show.
