HOLLYWOOD, CA - Looking to capitalize on the ever-popular \"kick someone off of something\" line of television shows, like CBS\'s Survivor or FOX\'s American Idol, NBC has decided to take it up a notch.
Coming this September is NBC\'s newest reality show, Hot Air. The premise? Eight people (four girls and four guys) live in the basket of a hot air balloon as it flies around the world. And, starting at the beginning of each episode, the viewing audience can call a 900 number and vote who they want kicked out of the hot air balloon at the end of the show. The loser will then be thrown to their death by the remaining contestants.
\"We\'re excited about this show,\" said NBC President, Andrew Lack. \"I mean, sure, it\'s been done before. But never to the extent that we\'re willing to take it. With our show, people are going to die! You just won\'t find that on ABC or CBS.\"
Entries are being taken now for the first season. And anticipation is already high for the second season, which is predicted as being a celebrity version of the show.
Said Lack, \"If we could get Ray Romano and one of the Wayans on the show, for instance, not only would it be high entertainment, but we would also be doing a service to the entire world.\"
