FORT WAYNE, IN - Seventh grader Derek Walinski,13, was excited to get back to school last week when he saw a Target commercial for back-to-school supplies and clothing.
"You know, I really wasn't all that excited for summer to end," said Walinski. "But then I saw that Target commercial, with the notebooks, pencils, and folders, and I thought to myself, 'Man, I can't wait to get back to school!'"
Walinski, who attends Golda Meir Middle School on the city's northside, was not a particularly popular kid at his school, but he's hoping to change all that this upcoming year with his new back-to-school items.
"Yeah, I wasn't the most popular kid," whined Walinski like a little girl. "But that was before I bought this blue folder and box of Bic pens from Target. Now I'm officially cool."
Walinski stated that he was tired of a summer full of playing outside, fun, and no bedtimes, and looked forward to getting back in the routine of "...science class, snobby girls, and getting the shit kicked out of me on the playground every day at lunch."
