LOS ANGELES, CA - Barbra Streisand said Friday that she finds listening to her own music to be an incredibly boring experience, one that occasionally even puts her to sleep.
Streisand, 61, told Reader's Digest in an interview for its October edition that she has recently developed narcolepsy, a disorder in which sufferers simply fall into a sudden and deep sleep at the drop of a hat.
"I was watching TV, and A Star Is Born came on," said the diva. "Suddenly, I felt the overpowering urge to sleep. It really,.. sucked. It's just,.. I don't know. To think that I could have done so much with my life, and,.. I did Yenta, but I made all those boring records and,.. zzzz,..."
Streisand fell asleep, and had to be woken with a light smack.
"Really, I've just gotten sick of my own music," she continued. "Why didn't anyone tell me? Think of the years I've wasted,.. 59 albums. I could have gotten into woodworking, driving race cars, something. Why didn't someone stop me?"
