If you’re like Wayne and me, you read every possible news article every day about every issue. You’re a political glutton. Call it enthusiasm, or "being active". I call it paranoia that we’ll have to live another four years under this retard and his Richie Rich regime.
If you’re not like us, and wouldn’t know where to begin to get learned on the world around you, On The Contrary is a good place to start. Issue Two of this hand-holdable, absolutely free zine (courtesy of proactivist Rachel Holmes) collects informative political and social pieces from other publications, original creative writing, poetry, some political satire, and a reprint of our very own interview with director John Roecker.
Aesthetically, it’s as cut-and-paste as it gets, fitting right in along its many zine peers. Content-wise, however, this is more substantial than the usual self-absorbed fluff from which most other zines tend to suffer.
On The Contrary offers people not-so-in-the-know about the world around them a way to get informed. Whether you’re too lazy, too apathetic, or too overwhelmed by all the possibilities, On The Contrary handpicks a few jump-starts for you, and combines them in one compact place.
To get a hold of a copy or two, which I recommend, email Rachel here, with On The Contrary as the subject.
