They had just three days to learn everything about each other. It was ridiculous, but love doesn't let you think rationally. It blocks any fleeting thought of what might happen, and just concentrates on the rapture you're experiencing at that very moment.
Three days.
In three days he found out that she likes to belt out Journey in the shower and hates to wear underwear. In three days she found out that Hollywood makes him nervous, and he suffers from a slight case of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
Three days wasn't going to reveal their true selves. The everyday people that they were wouldn't be realized before he got back on that plane. The whirlwind of excitement and happiness that the distance built up would mask the reality of it all before it even settled in.
In three days they wouldn't even begin to enjoy the start of it all, when the trivial, everyday things you do in life suddenly become exciting because you're doing them with someone. Grocery shopping becomes something romantic that you look forward to doing, although every time you've done it before, it was something you didn't even think about. But picking out cereal and dish soap with someone you love can be fantastic.
It was on the third day that they finally admitted their love for each other. Before that, it was stated in passionate stares and abandoned words. Already knowing, but censoring themselves for fear that what they were feeling inside might be genuine. Neither of them could believe that it had happened so quickly, but there's no time limit for falling in love with someone.
They had so much more to look forward to. Things they couldn't even imagine that they would go through together. Despair and elation, just waiting for them to dive in.
