What you might know by now: I love Mike Doughty.
What you might not know by now: He recently released a collected two-disc package of his solo albums: Skittish and Rockity Roll.
I\'m not going to get into details here. You either know who Mike Doughty is, or you don\'t. But if you do know who he is, and if you like what he has done sans Soul Coughing, you\'re gonna want to pick up this collection.
Not only do you get 1996\'s amazing Skittish (which has been out of print for the longest time), and 2003\'s fun Rockity Roll, but you also get five bonus tracks that were previously unreleased, including two live tracks from Bonnaroo, and two Skittish outtakes.
And as if that weren\'t enough, he\'s also slated to release an all-new studio album next year.
Who do you have to thank for all these Doughty goodies? ATO Records, that\'s who. ATO is fronted by none other than Dave Matthews, who is a big fan of Mike, and his label is ready to help spread the word about this amazingly talented singer/songwriter. And it\'s about fucking time!
Doughty\'s stripped-down solo work is an absolute gem, and it\'s good to see him getting recognition once again. So if you are a fan of either Mike\'s previous or current work, be sure to pick up this sweet collection of 23 musical masterpieces.
