My daddy writes the movie reviews, and this month he took me and hoagie to see Spider-Man. I liked it. It was cool to see Spider-Man on the big screen. My daddy made me watch these Spider-Man movies from back when he was a kid. He said I needed to see them for research, but I think he just likes me to see stuff with him. Hoagie liked it, too, I think. She said it wasn’t as good as X-Men, and I think she’s right. My daddy seemed to like it, but he got mad about the costume drawings Peter draws. Little things like that set him off all the time. He said they could have just shown him working on the costume design, without showing the drawing of a professional artist. But for me, I just like that the movie brings the comic book to life. My daddy has an attic full of comic books, and sometimes I go up there and read them. He doesn’t mind as long as I put them back in their bags, and never, ever bend them. My younger sister, Gwen, got some peanut butter on one once, and now she can only read the dumb old Archie comics. I don’t want that to ever happen to me, because I like superhero stories.
