10. THE PLEDGE - Sean Penn directs fantastic performances from Jack Nicholson, and wife Robin Wright Penn. If you missed it on the big screen, catch it on DVD.
9. BLOW - One of this year's most overlooked films. Director Ted Demme (who recently passed away in January) and his talent will be sadly missed.
8. SERIES 7 - This year's Blair Witch Project, Series 7 takes a harsh look at reality television. It makes Fear Factor look like a children's program.
7. PANIC - What list would be complete without at least one of William H. Macy's many movies of the year? Panic will chill you to the bone.
6. THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE - You've got to love those Coen Brothers. Masterfully presented in black and white, and Coen Brothers cinematography to die for.
5. SNATCH - Did everyone forget this film was released in 2001? Brad Pitt's performance as a Pike was unforgettable.
4. MEMENTO - On originality alone, it's one of the most innovative films of our time, and, hands down, the best script of the year.
3. THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS - It's a fantastic film about a dysfunctional family on an upswing. A work of genius and brilliantly written by writer/director Wes Anderson.
2. VANILLA SKY - Believe it or not, there were a lot of films this year for intelligent audiences, and this was one of the best. Cameron Crowe shows Tom Cruise at his best.
1. LORD OF THE RINGS: FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING - This is the reason films are made! Hands down, it's the best film of the year. Peter Jackson has come a long way, and has proven his worth in the film industry.
