Being told I can't make fun of certain people because it's not "politically correct" makes me want to hurl. Hell, just typing the words "politically correct" makes clouds of sulphuric smoke and hot ash vomit from my nether regions.
Why? Because, despite their holier-than-thou attitude, even the politically correct make fun of people. But only the ones they've decided it's "politically correct" to make fun of. White smokers, white Republicans, and white Christians immediately come to mind.
What these thought police don't understand, however, is that making fun of people isn't wrong. In fact, that's why God made so many different types of people: so other groups of people would have someone to make fun of. To make fun of others isn't demeaning or demoralizing. It's divine.
According to the guardians of goodness, however, it's never okay to call flamboyantly gay people "pole-smokers" or "pillow-biters", but it's perfectly acceptable to call a Jew-hating Nazi like Pat Robertson a "Jew-hating Nazi". (Ironically, when you call a Jew-hating Nazi a "Pat Robertson", they get pissed.)
Here's another: While I (being a white male) can't call a person of color a "Darkie" or the "N" word (even now I'm afraid to use it), it's okay to for me to call Michael Jackson a whacked-out pedophile. (Well, pedophiles hate it, as even they don't want to be associated with him.) But as long as I don't call him a whacked-out BLACK pedophile, it's cool. Wha' da fuck?
Seriously, where does it end?
I'll tell you where. Right here. Right now.
If I want to call Jesse Jackson a lame-ass motherfucker with the rhyming skills of Vanilla Ice, I will. And if I want to call George Dubya Bush a draft-dodging chicken hawk who used his family's connections to join the National Guard, but then somehow just "forgot" to show up for a few years of his enlistment period, I will.
After all, that's what makes this country so great. Where else but America could a self-proclaimed "equal-opportunity abuser" such as myself get away with slamming Pat Robertson, Nazis, African-Americans, Michael Jackson, pedophiles, Jesse Jackson, and George W. Bush in the same column?
Being an American gives me the right to make fun of anybody at any time, in any way I see fit. Even you. In fact, about the only person I won't make fun of is Mother Teresa. That woman was a saint.
Although I hear she could get a little gassy.
