So, Insane Wayne Chinsang offered up this lil’ five-song EP, saying, "They sound like The Strokes." Though I’d had my suspicions before, after hearing Some Action, I know that, without a joke, Wayne doesn’t listen to The Strokes. And I’m willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that the lil’ Korean hatemonger is proud of that fact.
But I digress. Some Action, though not like The Strokes, does have a dirty little Seventies' punky New York sound going on. I bet back in the day they could’ve shared the stage with The Ramones and Blondie at CBGB’s.
These cinco songs are all scrappy, dirty, rocky tunes with some who-gives-a-fuck punk singing, and lots of lyrics about girls. It’s okay. But their bio claims that "...listeners report having more fun listening to the record than having sex." Lies! I mean, this is pretty okay, but that’s a goddamn lie! I’d rather get some action than listen to Some Action any day.
