BEAVERTON, OR - The non-profit literacy agency known as The Riggs Institute announced Tuesday that the global epidemic of misspelling of prescription drug names continues.
\"We\'re extremely troubled by these continued misspellings,\" stated Martin Lowes, Chief Director of The Riggs Institute. \"We\'re doing our best to stop this tragic event.\"
First signs of the spread started early last year when it was noticed that emails contained horrible misspellings of certain drug names.
\"Please, please listen to me,\" pleaded the distraught Lowes. \"Valium is spelled V-A-L-I-U-M. Not V-A-L-exclamation point-U-M. There is no exclamation point within any word in the English language, for crying out loud! Nor is there a number three anywhere in the word \"Celebrex\"! And don\'t even get me started on Xanax!\"
The current misspelling outbreak is the second of its kind. A similar outbreak occurred in 1998, when emails flooded people\'s in boxes with promises of \"hot teenage pu55y\" and \"d1rty, f!lthy, cum-guzzl1ng wh0res.\"
