The literature that comes with Let It Enfold You goes on and on about the band\'s ability to take the intellectual approach to making music. It waxes philosophical about being inspired by Daoism and Nihilism, and enforces that their music is about more than girls and broken hearts.
The press release can promote Senses Fail\'s noble intentions all it wants, but it doesn\'t change the album into something spectacular or even mildly interesting. The music and vocals carry the same generic brand on them that every other modern punk band adopted years ago. And despite their claims of meaningful lyrics, Senses Fail falls short of anything more than typical.
I cannot count the times I\'ve listened to a CD, only to have the same observations about the current one as I did of the last: off-key singing, dime-a-dozen lyrics, and music that may as well be from an updated Casio keyboard.
If you\'re into albums that you swear you\'ve heard a hundred times before, pick up Let It Enfold You. If you\'re into music that has its own individual personality, better keep browsing the racks.
