Endicott\'s debut album, The Words In Ink Don\'t Lie, is a mix of many different, fast, aggressive genres of rock \'n\' roll. You have hardcore and speed metal mixed with a little bit of punk rock. There are aggressive vocals going back and forth, with shrill yells and echoed moans of melody throughout the album. There are also lots of heavy, thrashing guitars, typical of the hardcore/punk rock sound.
But the most interesting aspect of The Words In Ink Don\'t Lie has to be the lyrics. Instead of going by the usual themes of hardcore music-- like \"I\'m angry \'cause my mom loved my older sister more than me and molested my younger brother\"-- they tell a story about a kidnapping, and they tell it from different perspectives.
The songs are written from three points of view: the victim, the kidnapper, and the family. The lyrics actually prove to be deep and interesting. It is too bad it\'s almost impossible to recognize the words in hardcore music.
If you decide to pick up this album, be sure to read the lyrics for the full experience.
