WASHINGTON, D.C. - The four major television networks were on edge last Monday when Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld blurted out, \"Black people hate George Bush!\" during a live television event that was being broadcast to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The event-- Save The Rich (White) Victims Of Hurricane Katrina-- was broadcast by all four major networks, as well as a handful of cable stations.

U.S. Representative Katherine Harris (R-FL), who was on stage with Rumsfeld during the incident, seemed a bit taken aback at first. Finally, after a period of awkwardness, Harris stated, \"Well, yeah. That\'s true!\" Rumsfeld and Harris then shared a hearty laugh.

Still, Bush supporters jumped to President Bush\'s defense, pointing out that Bush was indeed liked by at least a few black people, such as ex-Secretary of State Colin Powell. However, that theory was shot down on Tuesday when Colin Powell held a press conference to announce that he did not count, as he is, in fact, a white man.
