THE BLUETONES - THE BLUETONES (Cooking Vinyl)
The Bluetones are pleasant, more traditional British rock or Britpop.  Nothing too exceptional here if you are not too into Britpop, but it is nice enough to listen to.  There is a little switching up with their style and tempo.
RATING: THREE STARS

I\'M FROM BARCELONA - LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO MY FRIENDS (Mute Corporation)
I believe the members of this band said something like this: \"Hey! Let\'s shove as many people as we can into one band and see how crappy it can sound. Oh, and let\'s see how many times we can repeat the same dull lyrics over and over again! Let\'s Do It!\"
RATING: ONE STAR

LOS ABANDONED – MIX TAPE (Vapor Records)

This is like Le Tigre if they went with a Latin influence, which means I love it.

BOOKS:

THE LOOKING GLASS WARS – (Dial Books)

All of us know the story of Alice in Wonderland.  A little girl chases a strange white rabbit into  a rabbit hole and enters a strange land where nothing makes sense.  But what if the truth was that Alice was actually from
Wonderland and was actually entered our world by mistake.  This interesting story taking another look at the classic tale in the same vein as \"Wicked\" did for \"The Wizard of Oz\".

Princess Alyss Heart is the next heir to the throne to rule Wonderland until her vengeful Aunt Redd destroys her family and through escaping Alyss turns up in our world a confused orphan who must conform to our world.  She
befriends and trust Lewis Carroll to tell the truth of her story, but Carroll writes her what is now known as \"Alice in Wonderland\" and twists the people and land into something unknown to her and breaks her heart.  She might have accepted her fate on earth until she finds her self back in Wonderland to fight in the Looking Glass Wars for her kingdom and destroy Redd?s Army.

All of the characters of the classic are within the story: Mad Hatter is actually Hatter Madigan a protective guard of the Queen,  The white rabbit is actually Alyss?s tutor Bibwit Harte and not a rabbit at all,  and The Cheshire Cat is actually Queen Redd\'s deadly assassin and others.  This book is a fascinating and different look of a tale we have grown up with and is quite enjoyable.
