HOTPIPES - HOTPIPES (Liquid Panda Records)
My initial thoughts of Hotpipes were, to be completely honest, not positive. But, after a few listens, I think my opinion shifted slightly. While I still think that the lead singer\'s voice comes off as incredibly whiny, I\'m beginning to see how some could have a somewhat decent time listening to their album. The music ranges a bit, from sad emo-indie to something kind of fun and up-beat to twisted circus music and then, well, back to sad emo-indie. So, if you\'re looking to have a somewhat decent time listening to music, Hotpipes is the band for you.

RATING: ONE STAR
Budapest\'s The Moog packs all of the catchy characteristics of sixties pop, seventies punk and the latest indie rock into their full-length debut release (even if their track listing is a little A.D.D.: \'Everybody Wants\' followed by \'I Don\'t Want You Now\' and \'I Like You\'). I wouldn\'t be surprised if some of the more observant indie stations started featuring some of the album\'s singles, specifically \'If I Died\' (ironically, later followed by a track called \'Survive\'), which I could see being their first big hit .

SMOKE OR FIRE -- THIS SINKING SHIP (Fat Wreck Records)
I was going to share with you some amusing anecdote that would eventually tie in with the CD I\'m reviewing, but instead I\'ve decided to give it to you straight: if you DON\'T buy this album, then they WON\'T make more. Only YOU can prevent \"Smoke Or Fire.\"
