PRESIDENTIN' WITH THE DUBSTER

Sweep the leg, Johnny! It’s 2005, and I’m feelin\' happier than Ding-Dong Donnie Rumsfield at an all-you-can-eat lie buffet! Today was a pretty special day for me: they swore me in (No swearing!) to play president again. Yee-haw! So, rather than wow you with some genius insight (like I usually do), I thought I’d just give you a recap of my swear-in hootenanny:
Judge Rehnquist: Are you ready, kid?
Me: Aye-aye, Captain.
Judge Rehnquist: I can\'t hear you!
Me: (louder) Aye-aye, Captain!
Judge Rehnquist: Ohhh... who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

NEAL SCHON - I ON U

Anyone even remotely interested in rock music knows the grand leads of Neal Schon. Whether with Journey, Santana, or one of his many interesting side projects, Schon’s guitar sound has become part of collective consciousness. The solos from his many hits are not just mindless noodling; they are mini-compositions in their own right.

READING BETWEEN THE PANELS

The Walking Dead is another gem from the seemingly unstoppable Robert Kirkman, which has quickly escalated on my list to my absolute favorite read. Why? Zombies, zombies, zombies!
I love fucking zombies. Wait, that doesn’t sound right....
Anyway, these undead creatures have been my passion for the last few years, and before this book came out I didn’t think I would ever find a comic book that would accurately capture the drama/horror of a zombie invasion. With The Walking Dead, though, we have a winner.

KRISTIAN WILLIAMS - OUR ENEMIES IN BLUE

I don\'t like cops. If you knew me personally, this wouldn\'t come as a surprise to you. And before you get on my sack about \"My dad is a cop and blah blah blah...\" just chill the fuck out. Just like the suburban white woman that tries to make up for separating herself from minorities by having a \"black friend\", I have a friend that is a cop. He is a police officer in the San Francisco area, and he even voted for Bush! (Gasp!) But he\'s still one of the kindest and nicest people I\'ve ever met, and I love him dearly.

TOM WOLFE - I AM CHARLOTTE SIMMONS

I Am Charlotte Simmons, the latest novel by Tom Wolfe, is the first I have read by this well-known and respected author. It may well be my last.
I really wanted to like this book, but I felt like I was swimming upstream against a current of words. I was exhausted by the redundancies and overly inflated descriptions. I decided that I would give this tome (676 pages, thank you very much) until page 200 before giving up on it completely, but around page 175, I was interested enough that I decided I would finish it.
