Morrissey, a gender unto himself (\"Morrisseyself\"), is back with his first album in seven years, You Are The Quarry. The record company is sending out only a four-song sampler for reviewers because of piracy and all that ballyhoo, I guess.

Prior to listening to Good News For People Who Love Bad News by Modest Mouse, the only exposure I\'d had to them was their single, \"Tiny City Made Of Ashes\", that was played incessantly on Columbus, Ohio\'s own \"alternative radio station\", CD 101. I liked the strange, quiet/loud, unsettling sound of it, but never picked up the album.

Does Mankind Liberation Front really want to liberate mankind, or is it just a front? I pose this question because while listening to their album, Automind, I\'ve come to the conclusion that they may, in fact, be evil robots posing as a techno-ish, rock-like band.

From antique mantles in centuries-old houses to cracked and yellowed porcelain dolls, this world is filled with beautifully broken things. And I’d like to think that Frankenixon’s latest album is one musical translation of that alluring disrepair. Amorphous is a 50-minute trek into a frayed pinwheel of sound that lives up to its namesake, weaving a world that lacks definite form.
