When I heard that the cartoon band was going to be allowing three fellow primates known as the Spacemonkeyz to remix their hit self-titled album, I was excited. Unfortunately, I have been let down. The “mutant chimps”, known as “D-ZIRE”, “DUBVERSIVE” and “GAVVA”, manage to mangle everything that was beautiful about the original work. In an attempt to make a dub version of each song, they completely strip the hard work of the original musicians.

Astralwerks, primarily known for more techno DJ-based releases like Fatboy Slim, Photek, and Dmitiri from Paris, is trying their hands at some new material. Constant Elevation pops Astralwerks’ hip-hop cherry with a phat bass beat. What a welcome break from the norm. (No offense, Mr. Cook.) Spawned from 1997’s Deep Concentration, this outing focuses more on the hip-hop DJ and what ground is being broken in the field.

The Muppet Show is one of the most imaginative shows in the history of television. Sadly, however, there have never been action figures that quite lived up to its wonderful characters. Well kids, don't sacrifice any more goats or chickens, because your prayers have been answered thanks to the incredibly talented people at Palisades Toys. In the first of hopefully many series to come, we have Kermit, Piggy, Bunsen and the incorrigible Dr. Teeth.

The ‘80s can be described and categorized in a dozen ways, but they will always be known to me as the decade of horror. Now that I think about it, that title covers the ‘80s as a whole, but I meant horror flicks. Ginger Snaps is not a self-referential "scary" movie filled with pretty TV teen drama defectors, as the cute title would suggest. Instead, it is a sweet-scented, gore-stained love letter to those of us who love old-school horror. This little gem is also free of digital tomfoolery.

That's right, folks! Michael Myers is back! Not only in Goldmember, but also in the eighth installment of the Halloween series: Halloween Resurrection. Now, I know what you’re thinking: "I went to see H2O and boy did that suck!" And I would have to agree. However, Resurrection is a complete 180 from H2O. In the last Halloween, Michael got his head chopped off by his loving sister, played by unisex actress Jamie Lee Curtis. How could they possibly write their way out of that one, you ask? I don't know.

As I sit here in my comic book castle, I reflect back upon the Wizard World 2002 comic convention in Chicago-- the second largest comic book convention in North America. It\'s an annual pilgrimage I\'ve made for more than a decade. The convention brings fans and comic creators together, and this year’s convention was enjoyable and successful. My wife and daughter attended the show with me for the first two days. Sonic Erica shows a real interest in our hobby, so we took turns walking her around. Her favorite item of purchase this year was Universal Monster Beanie Babies.

This upcoming release by Texas natives El Gato will be an ear-pleasing addition for any fan of contemporary, sensitive-rocker-type music. Let me put it to you this way: if you liked the last record from the Get Up Kids, then this album will fit perfectly in your collection. We're Birds has got everything that you'd expect from a decent emo band. This record has all those witty lyrics that, at first, seem like free prose, but leave an aftertaste of missing old girlfriends. You also get the Casio keyboard-sounding piano and organ that lead into strumming guitar riffs.

This is my first movie review for the paper, and as such, I was not exactly sure how I wanted to write it. The context of this one review could quite possibly affect every future review I write. It was a tremendous burden, because I know how much people demand from their critics. My article would undoubtedly make or break the picture I review. The power, the tremendous power! I felt it coursing through my veins! Talk about the ultimate temptation.
Thankfully, my first film was Signs; a movie I really enjoyed a great deal. It filled every expectation I had and more.

Austin Powers: Goldmember has everyone’s favorite modern-day-‘60s swinger time-traveling back to the ‘70s to stop a new villain named Goldmember. Most of the franchise regulars return (Mike Myers, Seth Green, Robert Wagner, Verne Troyer, and Michael York), along with new faces Michael Caine and Beyonce Knowles. Knowles does a fine job as Foxxy Cleopatra, Austin’s new love interest, cracking more jokes in 30 minutes than Undercover Brother could do in a full two hours.

An orange: firm and appetizing. You slowly peel the rind, exposing the flesh beneath. Its fragrant aroma dances pungently through your nasal cavity, triggering the saliva glands, and that odd alkaline taste stabs the back of your tongue. Your mouth opens, drawing the orange into the kill zone. Your teeth sink into the flesh. Your tongue searches, slug-like, for nectar that is as rich and thick as honey. Savoring the sweetness and citrus sting, your spine tingles and your heart races.
