KMFDM - WWIII

WWIII is the latest release by Kein Mehrheit Furh Die Mitleid, and it is really one of their best discs. The raw aggression that flies from the speakers on the first track alone speaks volumes about KMFDM’s tighter, refocused sound. WWIII is a politically-charged assault on the Bush Administration and our global greed. Not since the Reagan era can I recall so many artists raging against a common enemy.

IMA ROBOT - IMA ROBOT

As you all may remember, just a short while ago I did a review of Ima Robot’s four-song EP, Public Access, and the only complaint I had was the fact that it was only four songs long.
Well, ask and you shall receive. The full-length self-titled Ima Robot CD arrived just a few days after the EP review went online, and it's worth the wait.

FREAK FILMS: UZUMAKI

Everyone has things they’re into that may seem strange to others-- like Debbie’s collection of WWII penises. I’m sure you freaks out there have a few, don’t ya? Hobbies that go too far and become obsessions. But what if an entire town had the same obsession? An obsession that spread like a virus? This is the premise of Uzumaki, a film based on the amazing graphic novel series of the same name by Junji Ito.

KILLING JOKE - KILLING JOKE

These guys have been doing their thing since 1978, and have worked with everyone under the sun. The new album has Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) on drums, and Andy Gill (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Jesus Lizard) producing, so how bad can it possibly be?
At first, I was extremely curious to hear this second self-titled Killing Joke album,.. but then it started to play. My second mistake was listening to the whole thing,.. three times!!! I had to be sure it was really that bad.

UNDERWORLD

What we got with this Underworld flick is a ridiculously sexy vampire gal named Selena played by a ridiculously sexy British actress named Kate Beckinsale. Every time I started getting bored with the plot (so convoluted that more happened in the flashbacks than in the actual movie; one character actually has another character’s flashbacks), Kate Beckinsale would squat or something; her tight, vinyl-clad ass-cheeks shining like beacons of hope in the dark, dark night. I don’t know how practical hunting werewolves in shiny, skin-tight vinyl is, but I’m all for it.

EVERY OTHER WEEK - PANNING OUT

Every Other Week is a lil’ pop/rock band straight out of Cleveland, Ohio, where the heart of rock 'n' roll is apparently still beating. Somehow, this scrappy music act put out a snazzy, professional looking and sounding debut album called Panning Out. That’s gotta be expensive. I hear their live shows are great, though, so maybe they make some greenback from them. I dunno.
They’re in college! Ya’ ain’t supposed to have money in college! You probably are four years after you graduated, though, so where’s my piece of the pie? Feh. I digress.

BETH GIBBONS & RUSTIN MAN - OUT OF SEASON

This album is a billion things at once. It's the haunting sway of Beth Gibbons' absinthe-drowned vocals,.. that eerie banshee whisper that crept into our heads and opened closets and tollways to the shadowy lands of Portishead. It's a departure from the turntable whirs and electronic riffs of Beth and Paul Webb's other bands,.. a plunge into the acoustic. But it lumbers and broods over waters just as murky as those found beneath older songs, like "Western Eyes" and "Only You".

THE DISHES - 3

Chicago's where Capone made guys sleep with the fishes.
It's also the home of this band called The Dishes.
A fabulous foursome with the rock sound that's crude,
The team is three ladies, and a drum-playin' dude.
Jamming like Boss Hog on old tracks like "Strawberry",
They come in full-speed to bust your girl-rock cherry.
Pancake-yam riffs and lip-curling vocals abound,
With enough sonic feedback to deafen a hound.
They're gaining territory in an auditory war,
With more spunk in their trunk than that Mary Tyler Moore.

TIMO MAAS - MUSIC FOR THE MAASES 2

I got it: the brand-new Bad Religion album! I didn't think it would be out for another year. (For those of you who don't know, I am a HUGE Bad Religion fan.) However, this album is drastically different than past releases. Let me explain.
As soon as I was given the album at our tastes like chicken meeting, I ran to my stereo and put it right in without bothering to look at the CD case.
